Amy has over 25 years of experience in horticultural consulting and garden/landscape design. 

​Amy completed a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture: Landscape Design & Contracting and a Master of Science in Natural Resource Sciences with a thesis 'Transplant Survivability of Large Caliper Urban Tree Species.'

Upon completion of her thesis, Amy entered the Historic Preservation Study Program at Kiplin Hall, North Yorkshire, England.

After returning to the United States, Amy accepted a position as a county extension agent in horticulture with Virginia Cooperative Extension.

From there, Amy parlayed her passions for both gardens and horticultural education into a 15 year position as host of the PBS television production 'Virginia Home Grown.'

Throughout her 25 years of doing garden design, Amy has had the opportunity to design for clients in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, and beyond.

GARDEN DESIGN & HORTICULTURAL CONSULTING

Amy works closely with clients to assist them in creating the garden of their dreams. She is available for both virtual and in-person consultations, where she will talk through your needs and goals, and formulate ideas to address your concerns. If a more detailed, to-scale design is necessary, she is able to provide that as well.

Up to 30 minute virtual meeting: $60
Up to 1 hour on-site meeting (within 25 miles of 22963): $100
Site visits between 25 and 120 miles of 22963: Travel time: $40/hour, On-site time $75/hour. Mileage at current federal reimbursement rate.
Design pricing is based on scope of project and will be quoted during initial meeting.
